Food and Fun
In this time of stress/distress, I'm turning to the only constant in my life - food. Never judgemental, always filling, always consoling. I had the worst rubbish today. Today's food intake: 2 seaweed crackers, 3-in-1 milo (first ingredient listed: sugar), 2 apples (not rubbishy but quite high in sugar), chicken wrap with sweet chilli sauce, coconut bun, apple juice, two vovos, rice with prawns and snow peas and xiao bai cai and worst of all, chcolate covered almonds. Like, half a packet of them.
Going to have to gym tomorrow morning before assailing my mountain of Oedipus notes.
My second source of comfort - Neopets. I know, I know, that is really embarassing. Like, oh my gaw! How old are you??? Second childhood issit??
Yes, second childhood for me. C'mon guys, don't tell me you can resist a game of Meerca chase? (actually I can) or a game of Faerie Bubbles? (now that, I can't.)
I'm currently at 820 000 np and am working my way to my first million... and then... and then. And then nothing. I get a 7 digit figure in my bank, can't exchange it for real money, can't do anything with it, can't get back my time spent earning the np. Time, precious time, forever gone. Gee, I've had the goal of making my first million when I was in Primary 6, and 6 years on, when I'm much closer to fulfilling it, I have no idea what I'm going to do once I get it. It's a lot like real life I guess - it's just like watching a dog catch a car - poor bugger doesn't know what to do with it, but he's wanted it all his life.
Ah, but then again, I'm severely understimating the human capacity to delude him/her-self. In real life, with real money, we can buy the latest plastic gadget and melt it down to fill the little holes in our souls. I could probably splurge on paintbrushes and faerie cupcakes, grundo pencils and shoyru notebooks, or buy my long-suffering pets something to eat. I think the last time I fed them was sometime last year.
